I am so happy! My silkies have recently started to lay :) :jumpy I am so proud of them, but I think only one is laying as my black silkie looks like a rooster...
Thank you! I asked a friend and he said otherwise, so I wanted to ask here for more opinions. I am a little worried, though, as she's way too protective of them and will not stop pecking at my other hen. Should I separate them?
One of my hens is currently pecking at my other hen if she gets too close to the pullets. Is this a sign of her being broody? She is around 5 months old, and my other hen is around 6 months. The pullets are being heavily protected by her. They are not her pullets either, all are silkies...
Update! Hen is just broody. Pullet escaped today! 😆 I had to chase after her for a while, super funny. Love my beautiful silkie ❤️ Will post pics later!
Checked on my hens a while ago - super worried... one of my hens is way too overprotective of the pullets, and I feel like it could lead to something. :(
My name is Joey! :jumpy I've had a liking for chickens for a while, and recently got to raise some babies. I used to have chickens in the past, but due to noise we got them taken away from us. :hit I am on this forum because I lost a beautiful black Silkie a while ago, and I want to hear about...
