That is very true. Selection doesnt seem to be important to many, and a good line can be turned into hatchery grade birds with one bad mating. In order to create a good family, line breeding is vital. So is culling.
If you kust put them together, sometimes the hen will provoke the rooster to introduce dominance. or a short quick beating. If the problem insists, try a new hen. If its a repeat ....cull the rooster..that is unless hes just a pet. Then do whatever
He looks like a spangled hatch. Im guessing due to his medium station, dark legs, and spangle color. As far as peacombs, some hatch if not most can come with peacomb. I know the leiper comes pea. I see some oriental in that third bird down. But it may just be the angle, or the age
