why are 4 out of 17 layers don't have any feathers on there bottoms and 1 part of her lower back but they all have tail feathers most are barred rocks

Do hens quit laying or really slow down permanently? Mine are little over 2yrs old and only 2or 3eggs a day now. Out of 10 hens. Thanks for this site and any replies ;)

thanks I forgot about the molting as some are losing feathers on there backs but they have since I got a rooster as I thought he is rough on them with his spurs or something and some run from him and roost a lot of the time to stay away from him I think. thanks for the help everyone.

how many years or how long do (most) chickens lay as mine have all but stopped and the are about 1 1/2 years old now. last winter they layed all winter now I get only 1 or 2 eggs a day from 10 hens. thanks for and help.

Will a Cornish x meat bird lay egg as my grand son named one and want to keep it as his pet ?

I have 2 bourbon reds I thought they were both hens they were born last May but this last week end when ever my grandson goes in pen he is like a (bird whisperer ) the lightest colored one would continually fan out and strut around him until he pets it head and neck then it put its feathers...
