Hi I've aquired roughly 250lbs of wheat for free! Now I'm wondering how I could feed it to my backyard flock. Anybody have any suggestions? Is it ok to use as a scratch??
I have 3 4-week old Silver Layced Wyandotte chicks and 2 4-week old Barred Rock chicks that are getting too big for my brooder. Is it safe to introduce them into the outdoor flock which is 3 13-week old pullets and 1 13-week old roo? If it is safe, then how should I go about doing it? Thank you!!
I have 4 about 3 week old chicks and when i put them in there coop for the first time, i put a heat lamp right above one of their roost bars. When i first put them in their coop which was about a week ago, they would huddle in the corner like yours. At night i would pick all of them up and put...
Update: I've figured that building another coop that is the same exact size as the one that i already built and then attaching them to each other via taking off one of the walls and screwing the two coops together would be a cheaper approach at building a bigger coop. I calculated that that...
Thank you i'm going to start building a 5 foot by 4 foot coop next weekend with a larger run. Im unsure of the age of my chicks but i'd estimate that they are anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks old. I've had them in their coop for a couple of days and they are just loving it but they were able to get...
I know that now and i new from the start that this coop wasn't really going to work, but since my birds were outgrowing their brooder i decided to make something up out of scrap materials that wasn't a total eyesore until i got the time and money to build a bigger coop.. hence why i didn't take...
The coop is 30" by 32" and is 40" tall (not including the height of the legs). The run is 32 inches wide by 12 feet long. I have plans to build a bigger coop, but I was just wondering how many chickens this coop could possibly house comfortably.
