I just had the same problem hen sitting on an empty nest. I would take her off the nest everyday and put her out with the other chickens. It lasted about 4 or 5 days. Then she stopped.

She stopped a couple days ago. I just kept lifting her off and got the eggs. She finally stopped.

MSBG get rid of your mean roo. And put your attacking hen by her self for a few days. When you put her back in the flock she will be at the bottom of the pecking order.

I kicked her off the nest again. She's not to happy with me. I just took 4 eggs out from under her. Hopefully it was the same hen I have two Buffs. Will see if she is still there tonight.

Going on my third day. I kicked one of my Buff's out of the nest the last two nights. Looks like she is doing it again. How do you break this habit?

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up taking the golf balls out and just grabbing the eggs right after the hens have laid. Everyone seems to get done laying by 10 am. I'm still waiting on my buffs to lay haven't seen them around the nesting boxes. My 3 Barred Rocks haven't started, but they are...

Rooster seems to be pretty aggresive. He had one of the chickens by the back of the neck. Is this normal or do I have a rooster that needs to go to freezer camp?

What week do chickens start laying eggs? My chickens are 15 weeks old. What week is the earliest and what week would be the latest? I have 5 RIR, 2 Buff Orpingtons, and 3 Barred Rocks. Do I need to put golf balls in the nest or some other type of fake eggs? The chickens are from the local feed...
