I don't know why but our birds don't molt as much as I see in the many pics posted on the www. Guess this summer we will try and set up some way to keep them cooler

We are in Texas also. Our birds are laying like crazy. We are getting at least a dozen or more every day. Now in the summer they will quit laying.

Wow Emu. I only know one other person that does anything Emu near me, in Texas. We love our two babies. One girl and one boy. They are coming up on 1 year old in March so no eggs yet. I think we need to wait til after they are 2 years old correct? Their eggs are so beautiful

We tossed in a new bantam and a fresh laid jersey giant egg in so we'll see what we get. The bantams are the only purebreed. Warming up the second incubator for lockdown of the first three eggs in the next week or so.
