Well, it's back inside again, I heard another snap, and splash and then saw something swimming in our call ducks' pool.
I don't have anything you recommended at the moment to feed it, but we're putting it under the heat plate to get warm and dry. There's a bowl of yogurt near it, as that's the...
I heard a branch fall and happened to be out when it did. That's when I heard its little calls, guessing the parents were out or something then?
But we were not worried about cold temps, more so local predators, we didn't make it under 80 something last night. But it was a reassurance for...
Thank you, that's what was thinking, but it's already brought inside and put under the heating plate, I'll stay up and wait til dawn and put it back outside around where it fell. There are raccoons out and about at the moment so want to keep it safe for now.
It's almost morning, and we just found a baby squirrel that fell from our front yard tree.
I'm thinking of putting it in a box near where it fell and leaving it til it's mom finds it in the morning, perhaps putting it on the front porch so it's easier to watch for her.
Thoughts? My husband...
We had fowl pox during one of our first few years of having chickens, I just treated them by adding some fresh garlic and oregano to their water. I believe there's an iodin mixture that is recommended as well. But I haven't had a problem since, and we've had several new chickens and ducks...
I'm liking several things about this coop, loving that it's made from recycled materials, love that it's easy to clean, and love that there's a 25 year warranty.
This brood is right over our garden I have strawberries and pineberries growing in, so that worries me, especially since our kids eat them right off the plants. They also seem to be going towards my blueberry plants that are flowering and growing tons.
Edit: The ones in the attic have been...
Husband here... They appear to be moving through as they are using a bird nest built by a pair a bewick wrens that passed through last year. Such that I've seen the mother and father mice are searching for and grabbing bugs to bring back to the nest.
I assure, as she can tell you, I am NOT...
So we have mice with a brood of babies in our front yard, my husband doesn't want to dispose of them, despite my warning that they will keep having more broods of babies and will stick around.
I've noticed a lack of eggs from our chickens and ducks the last couple of years, partially due to...
Well, looks like you're on to something. We started her on niacin right away last night since that's what we had on hand. Then went out earlier today and started her on some Rooster Booster with B vitamins. I don't know if they really work that fast, but she's actually sitting up now! She...
All we have at the moment for B vitamins is niacin, I can grab some sort of riboflavin* in the morning. I wouldn't think it could be Marek's since they came from a hatchery and she's the only one with the issue for over a week now?
Edit: or grab some rooster booster*
A few weeks ago we picked up chicks at our local TS, all were doing pretty ok, but then one started just laying around. She act like she can't move her legs, just flops over and lay around. I think it's spraddle legs, but it doesn't add up to what I have read before, it started at least after...
