Their legs are white/pink. And I was looking at two of my two year old BO hens (also bought from TSC) and they are sorta reddish in the head and neck regions, so maybe your suggestions of a production red in the woodshed are valid. Here's Randy the Rooster in somewhat better light:

TaraBellBirds, I think the advise about the living arrangements sounds right. We can rotate the roosters as Papas until we have a good size flock.

Thanks, Michael and Karly. If everyone can live harmoniously, I'll keep them together and see how they do. My boys might not get many eggs going for their new business, but if we can get some chicks and get some more hens going, next year should be awesome!

Since I bought them at Tractor Supply, and had a huge problem with the Buff Orpingtons I bought at the same time (5 turned out to be Red Sex Links ) I wouldn't be surprised if these weren't a good mix. That said, however, if they give good eggs and are fairly docile, I'll be happy. Jeez...

I'll get some pictures of the "kids" individually and post them this weekend. They are all the same age, got them at three days old. I'm really hoping I have just the one rooster. I've got a young Buff Orpington rooster and don't know where I'm going to house all this male-ness.
