    Coryza or ???

Thanks.....I'm gonna call them Monday morning to see what to do. I went out to the coop and watched them a while. I notice the bad ones standing up high on their legs...Not sitting like the others. Their eyes all seem shut tight and some are withdrawn into themselves if that makes sense. My...

    Coryza or ???

No way would I sell these chickens! I'm not even letting my neighbors walk on my property without knowing so they can wrap their shoes etc....They have flocks. Treating my 38 birds now is just not an option....I've also got goats, kid, career etc....I can't be constantly treating this. I may see...

Oh no! It's that bad huh? My egg production has all but ceased. And I sell eggs!! I wish I had a certain diagnosis on this but we are going on a week and more just get sick and the others are not recovering. I wouldn't have a prob culling the older gals....Not that I want to but they are...

    Coryza or ???

Ok, I now realize I did a bad thing! I had an existing flock that seemed just fine (some are 3 yo) and I decided to add new members. I did not quarantine. I brought them in on a Friday, and then the following week on Saturday is when I first noticed a chicken with rattly wet-sounding...

Wonder if anybody can offer suggestions to what happened to my turkey

I had a beautiful, huge BB white TOM who was around 7 months old. He has always been fine, no issues. We found him last night unable to walk - when we picked him up, he stumbled a few steps back down. He could not hold his head up, he was panting and his skin color was very gray (usually very...

    Delaware Rooster has turned aggressive

Ok thanks................our child is never alone with any of our animals. They are all penned and let out when we are home. But from what I've read, he may never be not aggressive. I have been on the offensive with him for 2 days and he is staying away from me. My husband is charging at him...

    Delaware Rooster has turned aggressive

I have read about aggressive/mean roosters. I've got 2 roosters - 1 big, beautiful Delaware and a small, deformed Red SexLink. They are not quite a year old - maybe 10 months. The Delaware has been nice up to now - ever since I got mud boots and started wearing them while taking care of the...

    Multiple issues

Mystery solved! Well this is our best guess anyway - the lice HAD to have come from the original hay bedding I used when we first got our chickens back in October. We have a VERY old barn on the property with very old hay (decades) still in it. We noticed that a buzzard was nesting in this...

    Multiple issues

Ok we checked several of our hens and the rooster, and it appears that most of them have some lice - except my new younger hens we couldn't find ANY! And they are all together, and will all get treated too. Oddly, my light brahma looks to be the worse and she doesn't act odd at all. I just...

    Multiple issues

I looked for bumblefoot on her and can't see anything of the sort. We got some Sevin and will do the treatments for the birds and the pens. The turkey was NOT infested - just a few were on an area of her back/shoulder where it appeared she had a bad scrape or something. I saw maybe 2-3 at...

    Multiple issues

I have a flock of 14 hens and 2 roo's. Also next to them but not in the same pen, I have turkeys and guineas. Quick history - 10 of my original flock are 8 months old (8 hens, 2 roos). The other 6 hens are almost 6 months old and I got them from the same person. The new hens were in the pen...

    Guinea - 3 weeks old

Ok thank you! I have been reading about them, and we decided to use a big tool box my husband has and put them in the green house until they are feathered out (then they go into their coop). The greenhouse stays warm all day, and then we'll use a heat lamp for night.
