A friend found this chick in their yard 6 weeks ago, couldn't find the owner and gave it to me. It was very tiny when I got it but not as small as newly hatched bantams. It seems to be developing very slowly.

I had totally given up on mine. Then yesterday afternoon she was sitting up, she couldn't walk but she started being able to pull her feet under her and sit up on her hocks. Last night and this morning she was a mess, she couldn't even raise her head off the floor. I got busy doing something...

Some of that information sounds right but some does not in my case. The first pullet who came down with this didn't die for over a week and other than forcing fluids and separating her, I didn't do much for her. This article said that they die within 24 hours.

I have raised around 4 hatches of d'uccles and have never had this problem before, just this year.

I had three d'uccle hens lay in the same nest, then two went broody so I split up the eggs and let them hatch them out. They were hatched around the first of August, if I remember right. All the chicks were fine with no leg problems. They have all been fine up until the first pullet started...

I lost a young D'uccle acting this way about three weeks ago. I thought that she must have gotten injured. Now one of her sisters is doing the same thing. I came here tonight to try to figure this out and saw your post.

I sent all of my big roosters there this past fall and they brought $2.50 each and that was on a good night, the weather was nice and warm. They say no one will buy chickens there if it is raining or cold.

I am going to treat them with Ivermectin and Tea Tree Oil as soon as I can get somewhere to buy some. Right now I am using Vick's Vapo Rub. I do have some VetRx, I might alternate.

This is so funny, because the guy that I got them off of called them "red hens", they do lay dark brown eggs, he sold me 8 hens, 5 barred rocks and 3 of these, because he was getting too many eggs and was tired of trying to sell them.
