OK - it's noon on 12/11 and the incubator is set! I set 10 Marans eggs (Black Copper and Blue Copper), 'cause everyone else is molting and not laying right now. Here we go!!

Well, thank you! Looks like I'll be setting Marans (black copper and blue copper), as that's who's laying at the moment. Kaylish above had a good point - we too are forecast for widespread power outages due to a storm between late Wednesday and Friday - I guess we'll see how we fare....

I recently acquired (rescued?) my first chickens - bantam hen & rooster, and another large rooster (haven't looked to see what breed yet) who thinks the little bantam guy is a hen. They'd been raised in a cage on a table in someone's greenhouse, and never had been let outside. Their toe nails...
