How old is Kerbie now? My two Leghorn Chickens are progressing more than my other Chickens aroud the same age and they are starting to look like him. Do you have a side view photo of the hen next to him so I can compare my two leghorns and see if they match him or her closer. Mine were bought on...

Southern States is a dangerous place

Quote: I am just nosy...what state do you live in? Most states require that you buy a minimum of 6 at a time. BTW... congrats! I live in Central Texas and the only place that requires you to buy six or more is Tractor Supply and that is only around Easter so that the Easter groups that buy...

    Got the first 50.....too cute

Enjoy the chickens while they are growing and then enjoy the meaty goodness that they provide you and that they are all natural and not injected with hormones and additives like most super market chickens are prior to them being butchered. I would like to see those photos.

If I put a fifty gallon rubbermaid trash can as the water holding tank and mount it to where it gravity flows to the nipples through PVC Pipe will this work ok? Also, will I have to change the water out regularly or can I keep it in there until it runs out and then fill it back up again?

Best strategy when you want pet hens?

Quote: You can't return roosters unfortunately. You can sell them on Craigslist or you could raise them and butcher them when they get big enough. If you go to several of the hatchery web sites that are on this web site you can select sexed pullets for not much more money than what Straight...

    Chicks from Tractor Supply

Are Silkies a Bantam Chicken? If so do they lay good eggs to eat? Just curious since I don't know much about Silkies. Saw some feathered feet chicks in the bantam bin the other day at Tractor Supply but the clerk told me they were Bantams and that I wouldn't want them. Didn't notice if they had...
