Thanks all. Like I said, I was fairly certain that she is a she. Just trying to alleviate my friend’s worries.

    25 week chicken crowing

25 week brown leghorn pullet started crowing. She is not yet laying, and our friends we gave her to are concerned.

    25 Week brown Leghorn

We got several baby chicks back in October, all sexed female. By 18 weeks we were certain that they were all pullets and ended up giving a few to a friend since we had so many. We had 2 brown leghorns and kept one and gave one away. This week they are 25 weeks and ours started laying, but...

    All from the same hen?

Also, are you sure that all 3 of the brown eggs are from your GLW, the one in the middle looks different, could you BO have laid too???

    All from the same hen?

Yup! Your GLW and BO should be light brown, but that egg is definitely White, which would be the buttercup, and hopefully the EEs eggs will be a lovely blue or green.

    Where are my Eggs?!?

I did get this cute little pullet egg today, but it looks more like a Wyandotte egg than the GC/Sexlink eggs I am used to. My SLW is 19 weeks and has a red waddle and comb, and a moist vent but not as much pelvic separation as I would expect for her to have laid. I also have a Delaware that is...

    Same Chicken??

The bigger egg is 64 g and the egg in question is only slightly smaller at 54 g

    Same Chicken??

Neither of the new EE’s pelvic bones seem “ready” some separation, but not like my known layer.

    Same Chicken??

So I have one older EE who I know laid the egg on the bottom and 2 new EEs that are 19-20 weeks old, that I don’t think are laying yet, but the egg on the top is slightly different (shape and hue) I am leaning toward natural variation from my older EE, as I don’t think the first egg from one of...

    Where are my Eggs?!?

We have a fairly small back yard and let them out ocassionally, but I am fairly certain they aren’t laying/hiding eggs anywhere.

    Where are my Eggs?!?

I am in So Cal and don’t provide my chickens with extra light, so they usually stop laying in November and start again mid February. I have 2 seasoned layers (3-5 years old) and 1 new Sexlink that is around 30 weeks. My EE (5 yrs old) laid 5-6 eggs a week ago, then nothing else, my other...
