I've hatched 23 chicks so far. 5 crested legbars and I'm having trouble identifying which are legbars. I think I have the 5, now its a matter of sexing them. Here's a photo with 6. I got the leg bar hatching eggs. My other hens are all mixed with Rhode Island Red Rooster: Rhode island red...
The fan I used isn't the kit for the incubator but I would image they should be pretty similar, probably the same size. You for sure want to run it cooler because the air is forced. It ended up leveling out around 103 on the built in thermometer for 99.5-100. The temps still seemed to differ...
I'm at day 8 of my first incubation attempt with the 9300 as well. I added a (80mm) to mine at medium speed. It's just USB powered so I plugged it into a tablet charger. Then fan really helps even out the temperatures. My temperature difference between the built in thermometer and the 3 others...
I ended up turning my fan to medium speed with the bator thermometer at 106 and It bounces between 99 and 100 on my probe meat thermometer. :) The usb fan I'm using plugged into a tablet charger...
I live at 643' above sea level so water boils at 210.8 and both my meat thermometers read 210 in boiling water. I turned the incubator to 105. I'll check it again soon.
I started my eggs at noon yesterday in a little giant 9300. The thermometer is reading 102 but two of my own probe meat thermometers read 95. I checked both of them in boiling water and they read 210. I added a small 80mm fan in the back to help distribute heat. I've read that the little giant...
I have a Rhode Island Red Rooster and white & black Easter Egger. If I incubate their eggs I should be able to tell which are hens because the roosters should have some white, correct? If so, what color will her eggs be? Thanks
I've tried adding pocket change and no one seems entertained with that after the first minute. I'll try drawing on the cardboard. Good idea. Under the light it's about 93. There's areas not under the light source but they've been staying shattered under the light more than anything. I'll have to...
I just got 6 chicks from Meyer on Friday morning and I'm having similar issue. I have one chick that's pecking the others eyes which is causing damage to eye lids, one chick more than others. I've been flushing it good with saline eye wash several times a day and noticed a difference in 24 hours...
