I've got broodies a-plenty, and would rather hatch some Barred Hollands than order chicks from a hatchery. If you have Barred Holland eggs available, please contact me with pricing & shipping info.
Thanks in advance!!!
Well, that's what she's *supposed* to be, but doesn't quite have the look of my other SL birds. I realize that there's probably going to be some variability from individual to individual, so thank you all for your patience & helping me through this learning curve.
Anyway...here's a baby pic...
I'm doing this for my chicken run, with this 20' x 24' cold frame arriving next week.
The current plan is to use 1" PVC-coated hardware cloth to a height of 6' up each side, and then 1" aviary netting over the top. We're also running electric wire at 9", 18" & 30" up just to deter any...
Thank you all...my other light Brahmas are quite obvious - lighter & feathered legs like crazy, so this little one has me stumped for sure.
Ah, the happy peeping of little fuzzybums!
Yeah, I saw the two little feathers & that's what threw me. Do Brahmas have feathered feet upon hatching, or does it occasionally come in later on some individuals?
(S)he sure is a cutie, regardless...little snuggle bug, too.
This was sent to me as a light Brahma, but there are no feathers on the feet. It doesn't match up to anything else in my order (i.e. Faverolles, Cochins, brown Leghorn, etc).
Any clues would be GREATLY appreciated.

While this works, it is not a recommended practice. Exposing a snake (or any other herp) to rapidly fluctuating temperatures (i.e. warm room, cold fridge, warm room) causes additional stress to the animal, and can very easily lead to other issues, i.e. respiratory infections...
What kind of den are you using? Is it a resin type rock? If so, get help holding the den & snake, and I'd gently tap at the opening with a hammer to break it in order to get the snake out. Obviously you want to avoid hitting the snake, but the sooner you get him out of there, the better.
Here is "Dakota" - AKA "Princess Fluffypants"...she is easily in my top 3 favorites. Such a gem!!!! She is one of my daily reminders to be thankful for & not overlook the multitude of small blessings in life. I am so blessed to have her in my flock.
P.S. D-shizzle is a standard (giant)...
