So what am I looking at feed wise for about 20 birds? Feed is $25 for the meat birds. 2lbs to 1lb? Is that the accurate ratio? I plan on butchering at 8 weeks. Around 4lbs or so. So is that 8lbs feed, per bird for its life time? Or is my math wrong? This is my first time growing out meat...

Interesting. Mine are just over 7 months old, and have yet to lay. They were hatched out August 18th or so, and I got them a month or so later. Eagerly awaiting some duck eggs!

How long did it take for your Cayugas to start laying?

I have cayugas, they are about 7 months old; but have yet to lay an egg. I am hoping soon.

I was wondering if crab/urchin shell meal would make decent grit? I live on an island, on the atlantic and these are very easy to find.
