The person I bought him from says he has never heard him crow. He was just living alone in the persons backyard. But he will be happy there.

Hi. I got this chicken off Craigslist, she was alone in someone back yard. Does anyone have any idea what breed or sex it is? It has long copper feathers that look pheasantish. Thanks!

These Silkies are something else. LOL

My only concerns is that she is Silkie and its kinda matted in her fur. If she was covered in feathers I wouldn't be concerned. But is its two big chunks between her shoulders directly behind her neck between her wings.... I will keep an eye on her.

No. I don’t believe they are. They are pretty early layers and when we go out there there are usually eggs in the box. I haven’t let them out the last week so I know they aren’t out there.

We do them roam around our back yard when we are home or half days in AM. So I would say half time.

I have a 30wk old Silkie who is soooo loud. Every morning she just squawks. She has food & water and everything she needs. Also, any time another is laying she is just screaming at them. LOL Is this normal for a silkie?
