    Let's talk Wry Neck/Crook Neck

I used a I used a small ramikin to mix water an the vitamins and fed with an eye dropper. I also used another same sized ramikin to make wet feed. It's just feed with water so it resembles oatmeal. They will get hungry and take huge chunks out. Hold their neck an assist. Sometime they will be...

    Silkie thread!

Can you tell us what materials you're using for the nesting box? If they've just started laying, it'll take time for them to figure out they're supposed to lay in the box. Mine like hay and pine shavings weren't that impressive. If you can pin point a time when they lay, maybe lock them in the...

When Do Hens Start Laying?/Share Your Laying Experiences

Mine took what seemed like forever, 6 grueling months. Lol. There are the signs; squatting when petted, digging around in the nesting box, being antisocial and slip away from the flock. Once they start laying, the eggs will be less than average but it'll be the best looking egg you've ever put...

Now that 2 of 6 eggs hatched, momma is overly protective of one and aggressive towards the other. Should I separate mom into her normal coop and just let the chicks live in the brooder? Only 2, all the others are quitters.

I've been out maneuvered by my chickens. My bantam Cochin is broody so I snuck 10 eggs under her. This is day 3. There are now close to 16 eggs she's under and not all the numbers are there that are from 1-10. Lol that's what she gets for brooding in the favorite box.

Well Well, she's a lot fuzzier than the two others I got to keep her company. They're a few days older than her at least. The seramas are isolated to the other flock. The color is throwing me off. My Cochin is dark like her. Lol

this little girl is rather fuzzy for being a first day hatch. I don't know who th daddy is or the momma for that fact. I could be a serama, D'Uccle, silkie, bantam Cochin mix. Maybe next time I will mark the eggs. When can you tell which breed they are?

i built my nesting box in a four square configuration. 12" out so it accommodates the largest bird and 10" high for each box. I also staggered the boxes so I could staple the sides together easily. If you are building a nesting box with an open face, make a 1-2" lip around the front so they...
