I know I am slow on this, but my dad used to feed soy free feed. It was whole grains, pretty sure there was corn. He quit though, because he said the chickens picked what they wanted and wasted the rest. If you want to try though, I think your best bet would be to find a feed mill that...

I haven't been in here in a long time, like since last year. I'm not even going to try to catch up, but going to try joining in again. :) All is well here. I had a late season, as I didn't get my breeds separated until the beginning of June. I have half baked chicks in the incubator now...

Thank you. That could have been the problem. I don't check every day. I do random night checks, but never check in the morning. I rarely do early morning chores. I don't get out there until 9-10am so they have plenty of time to eat before I get out there anyway. I highly doubt she had...

Morning all. :) I lost a young pullet this morning. I went out to feed them this morning, and noticed she was looking unhappy... ruffled feathers, didn't want to eat. I picked her up to check for the obvious, eyes didn't look sick, she didn't feel thin, had food in her crop, checked for...

OK, just wanted to make sure. :D I did. It's probably true, but I can imagine having a chicken living with me. I love them, but not that much. LoL I'm so sorry! Moved my chicks from their brooder tote to my chick pen in the barn coop. I need to keep my chickens locked up for a...

Cute pic! I can't not say it though. Do you realize that her bridle is WAY too loose?
