In short :weejumped in at the deep end, build a incubator 🤪, place 61 chicken eggs inside and gently turned them every 8-12 hours:caf. day 8 candled them with 14 non starters, was amazed to see the embryos move :love and then major power outage:he 30 hours.💡 ups with 2 batteries kept them warm...

Thanks for the amazing welcome every one ✨ so in 2020 I had to make sure that we wont go hungry(prep) and started with 6 Potch koekoeks. sept 20(20.1) , 2 of them got broody. a Friend gave me some eggs and 22 days later the flock grew to 26.( pic 1) the Smartieflock is now +- 7 1/2 months old...

:frow do you have young hens roaming that area? might just be a 1st egg, I found similar size eggs in my coop when the hens where 28 weeks old
