Hello, 2 month old backyard mix.
No comb development but possibly sickles & hackles (hard to tell with the coloration) Raised by a broody so not easy for me to grab.
I am having the same issue with a broody switching nests. She is middle to low in our pecking order; I think she leaves the box when other hens try to add to her clutch. Should I separate her & "her" eggs (actually eggs from my neighbor as we dont have a roo)?
Its disgraceful that the "farm stores" sell these pieces of junk. Our starter coop yrs ago was a junk pre-fab. Terrible! The one we later built from scratch is all about easy cleaning- removable nest boxes & Floor lined with FRP
I feel like I just posted the same thing- a black and a blue Australorp, kid's pets lol. And its our black one that seems roo-ish, not just feather-shape but more alert & a deeper "peep".🤞
Good luck to you!
Hello, new to Australorps I have one black & one blue 8 or 9 wks. Though we past 3 feedstores to buy at one that advertised pullets, really feeling the black one is a roo. Thoughts? My daughter is getting attached. ☹️ Aurora & Esther for those that enjoy the names like I do.
