Thanks for the feed back but to many coyotes and bobcats to let my chickens free range ring the dinner bell. As far as my run/coop approx 15 x 30 and I plan on around 14 birds so should be big enough, going to give it a try.

Doing research on wellsummers some say they do well in confinement others say no. I will definitely have to raise them confined to many predators in my area not to. Will they be a good confined chicken?:D

Any breeders near Cedar City if so what breeds do you/they have and do you sell them?

The show thing is really tertiary to me i want to stick to one breed to learn it at first. I will start looking at threads.

Just about to purchase my first batch of chickens and am torn between Delawares and Spec Sussex. I want a flock that can lay and brood my own chicks and compete at state fair level. Thoughts? Or maybe different breed?
