Any photos? will they be different looking from Barred to Barred chicks as I will have some of those as well. Just want to know if I will be able to tell the difference between the pure and mixes
I have a Barred Rock roo and some ISA Brown hens. I was wondering what their chicks will look like as babies and adults. Also have a Buff Orp hen and wondered what their mix would look like?
I have a 4 month old EE pullet that does this same 'moonwalk'. She looks like she is walking into some imaginary object and then backs up and then goes forward. She seem normal for everything else. She holds herself normally. She is free range and gets healthy veggie fruit treats. Just weird!
No we still haven't caught anything :(
We have seen a skunk in the yard though so it might have been him, but I had read that they eat the heads and stack and my birds heads were not touched nor were they found together.
Hello, just bought some new chickens that were sold as Cochins. Now I really don't care if they are pure but just wanted to know if Cochins ever come bearded? The almost black girl is bearded and the partridge? color isn't and they were sold together as 3.5 mths old.
We had two hens taken yesterday at dinner time. We didn't hear anything. Only noticed them missing when we went out to fill feeders and waterers and lock them up for the night. We found them further back on the property 1 had a broken neck with feathers all around her the other had her...
Just there to look and maybe get a few more pullets :)
Also dropping off one of my cockerels for a trade.
Anyone interested in my other cockerel 12 weeks old :)
I have 2 long roost rails in big coop, as well as a small not as high roost bar in the grow out coop. We have a roost rail in three areas outside at different heights and we also provided them with a small low roost bar in the brooder box as they grew. They just have NEVER gotten up on one and...
I wasn't overly concerned, just really wanted to know if this is a breed trait. They are the 'in between' batch of chicks and the younger chicks love to be up on the roost.
These 4 have always been different, not as active as my Orps, Barred Rocks, EE and Australorps. Just huddle together all...
I have and they just jump back down. It worked with the 2 Australorps(they were difficult but always stayed put when I put them there) and they now roost up with the others. I just can't figure these 4 out at all.
Hi everyone, just would like to know what you think. I have 6 adult hens(ISA Browns) and this summer we got 16 new chicks of various breeds. They are now integrating and all has gone well. Just have one set of chicks that refuse to sleep on the roosts. We got them when they were 2 weeks old and...
