    Pearl Star Leghorns

Here is an update on my girl. She's become more red underneath and her feathering has become more defined. Her hatch date was 1/28 so I think ours are close in age. Sweet as pie and has legs like a super model. It's so interesting to see how they all have been turning out!

Official BYC Poll: Is your RUN Covered or Not?

I will keep this in mind when making the side aviary! I like the shiny aluminum foil idea. They used to free range in the side yard but a hawk took one so they got a whole new run set up and no free ranging in the yard til its safely covered!

I have a barnevelder, she was one of my first chickens! I got her from a friend who had too many and I didn't know anything chicken breeds at the time, just that I wanted chickens. She's friendly, inquisitive, talkative and laid her first egg in the dead of winter. She lays regularly every other...

    Pearl Star Leghorns

I have an 8 week old pearl star pullet and she's the friendliest, most outgoing of the bunch. I wasn't planning on getting her, but she was too pretty to pass up and has proved to be my best choice

    So excited to be here!

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? New as of october 2019. It all started with an acquired one legged columbian wyandotte pullet and her barnevelder friend. The wyandotte unfortunately was killed by a hawk in february, but the chicken obsession had begun and my barnie...
