We are planning on beginning with 10-12 chickens. And seeing how we do and going from there.

We live in a development and only have about 1/2 an acre. We will not be having them free range. We do have 3 dogs. And we have neighbors not only on the sides but also behind our yard.

We aren't sure of the types either but know we want friendly and affectionate. We want pets as well as the eggs. And we have children.

Thank you Chickens Really. Then I'll make sure I purchase from a hatchery instead of a feed store? Or wouldn't the feed store get them from a hatchery, so they'd prob have them vaccinated as well?
