I just got an antique sock making machine. I've been busy in my craft room organizing and cleaning the parts. I can see 2 "teeth" that are chipped. I'm hoping once this is all set up it is still operable. Keeping everything crossed!

I did 3 of mine today. I still have more to do but the water wasn't hot enough to do more. I'm glad to know I CAN do it, but after this batch I think I'll try to find a butcher to do it.

I'm doing mine for the first time today as well. Roos are 14 weeks, but i need to do it before crowing happens. I'll be using the broom method. I wish luck to us both!

I really wish I had read this thread first. I didn't realize my layers would pick on the Cornish x. They killed half of my meat birds today, 8/16. They have a week to go until processing, I've got them separated now. I feel so bad for them. They were meant for early death, but not to die in...
