Can turkeys and chickens be brooded together the first few weeks in the same brooder , feeding them a 20 % protein starter, and keeping the heat between 90° and 95°? or is it best brood them totally separate ?

I have been looking at building a "whiz bang" chicken plucker , some articles that I have read suggest that a mechanical plucker tend to make the meat tougher over the hand plucking method. Has anyone that has one of these pluckers notice this ?
