Thanks for all the supporting sentiments. I think the worse thing is that all the colored eggers all lay exactly the same color egg, Olive Egger, EEs and CLs. I was hoping for some color for all the money I spent.
Thanks Matt. Yes I know they can be greenish but....
The Olive Egger lays the same pastel green eggs as my Easter Eggers....no where near olive. In fact the EEs, the Cream Legbars and the Olive eggers all lay the same color eggs. A real bummer. I was hoping for and paying for a nice colored...
I ordered 16 chicks from Meyers last spring. The chicks were shipped promptly and all were alive and with a tad bit of help for one, they all survived.
BUT!!!!!!!!!
I ordered 3 Cream Legbars, two girls and one boy. As they grew up, I could tell that I had three hens and no boys. Just how...

Don't feel bad about it if it's a roo. I purchased 3 Cream Legbar chicks from Meyers last May. One was supposed to be a roo but grew up to be a hen. I still wonder how Meyers could screw up sex link chicks. BTW I paid $40 for a mistake.
My orpington rooster had a cold or something a month ago so I administered tetracycline to the entire flock for two weeks. He was coughing but now he is fine and I detect no sneezing or coughing from the hens. My hens have the same feather loss as Dulu shows in the pics above but I'm pretty darn...
I have the same set of circumstances and I use the Ador door from the Ador door Store. What a crazy name but it works great. I do consider leaving it open to the run which is very well secured against our varmints in the mountains. But the door is another layer of protection for the flock at...
The hens are only 9 months old. Half have never laid yet. The others started laying in Oct. The ones that stopped are EEs, CLs, and Welsummers. One BCM and one orpington are still laying albeit slowly. I won't do the light thing but it's funny that now that days are getting longer, they stopped...
In my case it's a lavender orpington who does exactly that. They have been fine with straw since they started laying back in October. But last weekend I cleaned the boxes and put in fresh straw and it made no difference to them. They pull it all out and won't lay eggs. I don't use a light or...
