    OH darn....Impulse buy of 7 new chicks 3 hours ago.

    HAHA I went to TSC today for hog feed and they had Buff Brahmas as the featured bird @ $1.99ea so of course I had to get 15.

    They need a heat lamp for a source of heat...but make sure that they have enough room to get away from it if they are too warm so they don't suffocate. A wood stove in the same room would not be a good heat source for them. Hope this helps

    Oh boy! I now have ducks!

    House is all built 10'x12' insulated barn...and no they will not be just left to live on their own in the pond. I plan to fence the perimeter and close them in at night. Well looks like TSC will be getting an ear full if that is the case. Thank you for the info and advice!

    We just bought a house with 12 acres. So of course I have to utilize it. We have a pond out back a huge one mind you and I happened to go into Tractor supply today and saw DUCKLINGS! Blue Swede's....so naturally I had to get some for our pond! I did see some pics of other ducklings though and...

    Chickens and Pigs Question

    I asked my grandfather, whom has raised hogs most of his life and he said it depends on the pig. Some will kill the chickens and others will not, other times they will chase them, but as far as the TB thing goes hes never experienced that happening.
