Hi all! I placed two dozen fertile eggs in incubation, from two hens in my own flock. One hen is a 2-3 year old Australorp, and the other is a Black Copper Marans who started laying fairly recently. All but a few of the eggs developed nicely; I could see embryos with candling, and air sacks...

Yay!! I was hoping so, but couldn't find much info on whether speckles are passed down like color. It sounds like it's not a given, but a probability!? My Black Australorp, Red SexLink, and Black Copper Marans usually have some speckles (though not as many as the Welsummer) on their eggs...
