Thanks, they are super cute. Sadly that is the last photo I have of my amazing white rock mama hen and flock leader. She died about a week or two later defending her chicks from a coyote. It was a sad moment. I wanted to have her as my avatar because she was my very best chicken friend. And now every time I come here I see that and smile.

How many chickens do you have?

She did, She was my buddy.

I have six mature hens now, and then her seven pullets are about 6 weeks, and we just got two Icelandic roosters, but one went next-door. lol I'm not sure if we will get him back depends on if we can catch him.
How many do you have? I'm gonna take a guess on at least some of them are silkies?

Aww sounds like a lovely
Flock you have :)

I have about 12 laying hens of various breeds, five darling silkies, a lavender guinea and a pair of peafowl. One of the silkie hens is sitting on two eggs that are due any day now, so I'm crossing fingers for a successful hatch!

Oooh how exciting!!! our chicks came from the feed store then our white rock adopted them. she wanted to be a mama so bad. I've never hatched eggs though, hopefully now with our roosters we will get the chance. our rooster just went in the coop tonight so right now my girls are not impressed. lol
