I made this for the girls. I wanted something that would stay clean and provide water for a long time. I made a wooden handle so the hanging chain wouldn't slide and I added some scrap blocks of wood to the bottom to protect the nipples. So far so good.

Well I will start the trend to listing by states. I have a mixed flock, roosters are barred rock, I believe a sex link crossed back to a rir(absolutely beautiful bird), and a couple partridge birds. I will be adding a couple welsummer roosters soon. Hens are barred rock, Rhode Island Red, and...
I am thinking about picking up some hens in the next couple days to restore my flock. Other than worrying about disease, is there a way to tell if hens are older or younger? I obviously would rather have a one year old hen than a five year old for production reasons. Thanks
I would love to trade these fine fellows for any kind of pullets, chicken food or hay, or even older hens. If that fails, I would be willing to rehome them. Thanks
I have less than week old chicks of a barred cochin crossed with either barred rocks or isa browns. Chicks are black with white coloring or whitish. $3 a piece negotiable or trade.
Something dug in and got our flock, all fifteen. Trying to figure out what it is that got them. It dug in around an unburied fence skirt, and under a bottom rail. It didn't dig out much space. My first thought was racoons, but my bil's family thinks that it might be a mink/ferret/etc. Any...
I am having a very successful hatch. I am so glad MissPrissy talked me into the genesis, it really is plug and play, as this is my third successful hatch. Anyways, one of the chicks popped the top shell off and I noticed it had what looked to me like a skin colored globular cyst, for lack of a...
Just wondering if this was a possibility as it would make it easier to look locally. Maybe it should be as simple as starting a thread here with your state and posting what you have. Thanks for listening.
These guys are all about 6-7 weeks oldI know these first ones are buff orps, and I am afraid I only have one out of four that is a hen. What do you guys think.

Ok, my next question is...
Anyone interested in a 6 week old Salmon faverolle rooster for $5. Good looking little guy, but I have two, and I have another 4 week old on the way that I may be selling.
Is this a thing or possible? If I have barred rock hens and mate them with a barred cochin that gives me a barred cross feather footed, or just take a barred cochin hen and mate it with a RIR, would this give me a feather footed black sex link? Just wondering.
I think the answer is going to be its a bad idea. I had to stagger my hatch and I have week olds in the brooder now, and I will have some more hatching the 25th, any chance that I will be able to put these together at any time? If so, when? Thanks
Ok, I just set my second batch of eggs in the bator. This time around I got some eggs from MSU. I have some salmon faverolles, araucaunas, Rhode Island Reds, and Buff Orpingtons. Some of them are a bit old, almost two weeks, but I put them in just to see what happens.
Anybody else starting a...
