I'm pretty comfortable with taxidermy rd animals, I'm sure it is of debate in some places, but... Does anyone here have any stuffed chickens? I was at an antique shop a few years ago and they had a dusty old taxidermy rooster. It was named something funny I don't remember.
I have a Leahy 624 redwood incubator, and I've noticed something recently. [/IMG]
So that is basically a metal slide-out protective covering for the heating element. I noticed that on the underside of the metal covering it has an advertisement for Rival Crockpot. I was curious if anyone else...
I just got this baby for 60 dollars at an antique shop. Although it shines nice and bright in the photos, it didn't start out that way, I had to put in about 3 hours of straight non stop work to get it to this point.
Bare with me, because there are a lot of pictures. I got a little camera happy!
Here they are! I have tested this incubator, and I LOVE it, the temperature is rock solid. My electric thermometer registers the fluctuation at 99.0-99.8.
Original Mercury thermometers!
Really...
Well, I became very interested in Depression glass, and after many trips to multiple antique shops, I just couldn't find what I was looking for. I found another local antique shop that I hadn't been to before, and I saw some really nice antique pieces. The dealer had told me that it was vaseline...
It hatched about a week and 3 days ago, and I am still trying to fix it's leg, it did have a splayed leg, but I fixed that. (Or so I think)
In the pictures you will see how it's right leg is awkwardly positioned.
It looks to me like the chicks Drumstick isn't lined up with it's leg...
I just recently acquired this sewing machine and beautiful wood cabinet. I have another old sewing machine, but I thought I might start a thread of it later. I got this one at a Yard Sale for 10 dollars.
It is a beauty. I sure do love it already, and the (Singer) part of it makes it so much...
I have been in the process of fixing this Brower Top Hatch incubator since I got the thing.
First off, this incubator was given to me!
The thermostat worked for about a day, then quit.
I took out that thermostat and wired a modified water heater thermostat to the candelabra base 60 watt...
I saw it at Petco the other day, and it is only 7 Bucks. I figured I'd ask if any of you guys have used it. It has a long probe, and I am thinking of buying it to use in the incubators.
Here's Google Image of it. The package says it is very accurate, and I think it even said it reacted quickly...
Well, I have finally got a broody hen, (barred rock hen/black sex link rooster)
She has been sitting on them for the last 4 days. I have a good feeling about her.
I know that there is already a broody hen hatchalong thread going on, but that's way to many pages to try to find information about...
I have noticed that the old website had a button to access a person's page directly below their avatar. Am I missing something?
When I want to access my own page, I have to go to my profile, and scroll through a bunch of my posts to get to my pages.
I am going to post pictures of it when I get it finished. It was basically a nice wooden box when I got it, and it had 1 1/2 inch thick styro foam lining the inside. I covered the styro foam with strand board, and painted the strand board, and put 4 layers of sealer on the strand board. I am...
I got this incubator for 40 bucks. It is a 100 egg incubator. I have already added a fan, and just turned it on to let it stabilize about 30 minutes ago.
The original thermometer, but it is busted.
I met this man today, and he said it was a roll-x incubator, but is was a 1 1/2 ft tall, and 2 ft wide, 2 ft long. The whole incubator is clear, and is completely acrylic. It uses one of the coil heating elements, and a bi-metal thermostat. He said that it hold three trays, and they all stack on...
...incubator warehouse products.
*****UPDATE******
Here are the new pictures, the incubator is holding steady 99 degrees all throughout the incubator(I made sure it was). I have...
Well, I have the big fridge incubator, but I can't ever bring up the high enough for lock down. I have a cooler incubator as a hatcher, but it can't hold as many eggs as the fridge incubator, so I am forced to hatch in it. I also don't want to make another cooler incubator, so this is my...
I was just thinking about in Egypt when Plagues of Locusts came, how fun that would be for the chickens. I know that recently the grasshoppers have gotten really bad in our area, they killed our lemon tree. My friend said that he doesn't worry about locusts, because he has a Free-range flock. I...
I was wondering if y'all could give me some suggestions on homemade gifts for Christmas. I can sew and crochet, but I don't do blankets or quilts I have made a quilt before, but they just take too long to make for me to share with someone on Sunday.
