Seb babies! Your opinion on sex please

Look at what hatched yesterday. I am living halfway across the world and left my white sebastopol trio in the hands of a couple that are absolutely spoiling them. They are tickled to death with these geese. I know the one on the right is a girl because of the gray so does the one of the left...

    Do I have onagadoris?

I'm passingly familiar with the history and controversy of this breed in America as well as the lack of pure stock so I don't want to flame up on that. I'm wondering if I can ethically call my birds onagadori (append proto or american as the prefix if you choose) based on their physical...

Do I have a girl? New Seb baby.

Look who was born today! Momma even let me examine the little thing without complaint. Geese get such a bad rap, mine are the sweetest. I'm just expecting the one to hatch. I want to say it's a girl if I remember the childhood coloring of the parents correctly. I know the girls are grayer...

Ok to feed st gabriel organics DE?

This is what my feed store stocks. It doesn't say food grade, it's intended for garden insect control. Will it be ok as long as it's not for pools? I really need to start a DE regimin, I'm constantly fighting cocci.

Should I give sulmet if only symptom is reddish brown diarrhea?

My chicks are two weeks old and are doing just fine except last night I noticed a bit of reddish brown diarrhea (not bloody colored). Tonight it seems like more of them have it but they're all acting fine. Should I give them sulmet now or wait until they appear sick? Thanks!

    Modern game swallowed string

I found her with feed bag string wrapped tight around her jaw and going down her throat. As soon as I cut it it went the rest of the way down. The vet said corn oil or laxitone. She is lethargic and sometimes shudders in pain. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Any golden comet sexlink fans out there?

I can't find much dedicated to this industrious sexlink so I am starting the golden comet thread. For those that dont know they are a NH roo x white rock and they have been known to start laying at 15 weeks. The boys are white and the girls are ruddy almost like an over-pyle if that makes any...

    Geese eating eggs

I have two pairs of sebs which are a year old. My girls keep eating eggs before I can collect them. They eat my hen eggs too. They get a mix of flock finisher and layer. I even filled store bought eggs with plaster and they ate those halfway through. Then occasionally they'll "play house" and...

What does a black BLR Wyandotte look like?

And would you use them in breeding (ie to splash)? I see many pics of blues and splash but nothing I'd call black even though in theory breeders should have as many blacks as splashes from blue x blue matings. Do they get culled? Thanks I'm just getting into the breed and want to find out as...
