    28 weeks no eggs?

Hello all - I don't know if the timing was off and they've gone into molt, or if it's just taking a looooooong time for them to start laying. I'm frustrated though, and was wondering if I'm doing something wrong? I have five Golden Penciled Hamburgs. They were born May 4th, so they're 28...

    All done for the season!!

This was my first year with meat chickens, so I did two batches of 22 Cornish X. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it for the delicious birds filling my freezer now!! I ended up doing ALL the killing and processing by myself, as DH claims he can't stand the smell of it. I got pretty...

    One person processing question....

So I am, despite being the city-girl, the chicken butcher in the relationship....DH is a country boy, but hates the smell of processing chickens (the scalding, eviscerating, etc.). I am questionably blessed with a lack of sense of smell, so it doesn't bother me at all. Here's the problem - he...

FREE White Polish Rooster, Pittsburgh, PA

I have a beautiful 8-week old white polish rooster, needs a new home since I live in the city and can't keep him! He's docile, can be handled easily, and takes good care of his hens. He's starting to try and crow though, which means the neighbors will start complaining! I can even deliver...
