    My thought it was a hen is crowing.

    I am considering downsizing the non egg layers out of my flock, since I saw my white Leghorn crowing alongside my rooster this morning, should I consider him for the fry pan?

    So a mouse or two is the norm in a chicken coop?

    My coop is actually a garden shed built by my family, so not perfect. I saw the little mouse today when I opened the door, running into a hole. The only food they can get at is the spill from the chickens. No harm if there are not too many?

    Question:Eating eggs from hens on antibiotics-OK?

    Hi, my hens have been drinking oxytetracycline HCI in their water for 2 weeks now. The package says not to give it to hens who lay eggs for human consumption. I haven't been eating any of their eggs, but I wonder if the eggs would do me any harm. Anybody have any ideas?
