    question about natural hatching.

I have a broody sitting on eggs and it's day 22. Are there any signs I can look for they may be hatching as I'm beyond impatient. This morning she has two eggs poking out from under her about half the eggs exposed. She at no stage has had any that were visible. Is this a sign of anything?

    Day 24 advice

Out of 6 eggs I gave my broody only one has shown to be viable. Today is day 24 and I'm not holding out much hope. What stage should I give up on it. Any advice on getting my hen out of being broody? Would it be cruel to.give her more eggs and let her sit on?

    overdue eggs.

    no air gap

Started with six under my broody. I am on day 15 now and have discarded 4 eggs. One left I am almost certain is viable is mostly dark and has a definite air gap. One is ever so slightly cracked but is also mostly dark tho does not seem to have a light air gap. Is this one likely to still be viable?

how long will she stay broody?

Have had a broody Silkie who has been broody now for a week. I have ordered hatching eggs and they are due to arrive tomorrow or the next day. Will she still be suitably broody to hatch these eggs? I plan to move her from the coop to a seperate run with the new eggs. Will the disturbance affect...

introducing hatching eggs to a broody hen

One of my Silkie has been broody for around 5 days and I've decided to buy her some fertilised eggs. Will it be easy enough to give her them? How many should I give her. Also is it easy enough to let nature take its course and will the other hens not attack the chicks?
