    My flock

Hey all! :frow So, I’m waiting impatiently for my eggs to go into lockdown next week, so I thought I’d share something about them and me  I have a serious addiction to farming in general and hatching especially. Other than the few years I lived in the city I’ve been farming my entire life...

How to determine rabbit gender...With pictures

It's not as easy as you might think to sex a rabbit. Even experienced breeders can and do make mistakes in determining male from female. I've been checking rabbit bottoms for genders for about 20 years and am very rarely wrong. I normally don't bother checking until 2-3 weeks old, some can and...

    Are these all hens?

I have an idea that these are all hens, am I right? The two little ones are Beltsville Small White and are about 10 weeks old. The one should be a blue slate and the other a bronze, but what is the red one? She's too light to be a bourbon red...any ideas? Those three should be about 15 weeks...

I'm giving them apple cider vinegar in their water and all seems well. What I would seriously like to know is this: How did we go...

Can anyone tell me the gender...?

I got these chicks yesterday and they were dubbed Aracauna, but not only am I not convinced of that, I wonder if they're old enough to figure out the gender? I'd like to be able to do it myself eventually, so if you can point out what you're seeing that tells you the gender, I would appreciate...

Hi all, I've had laying hens for a long time, but as I'm looking into going into the incubate and raise portion of keeping chickens, I thought I'd do some research and perhaps pick a few brains while I'm at it. Looking forward to getting to know the backyard chicken community :D
