    Does this chicken butt look normal? Pictures attached

    We have 14 beautiful hens and of the 14, 2 are large fryers. Their butts do not have feathers is this normal? One of our Black Australorps is starting to loose feathers back there, should I be concerned that the others may be picking on them? Or are they doing it to themselves?

    Do chickens like to be scratched or pet?

    We have very friendly chickens and they don't mind being held. When we hold them we scratch them around their necks and when we walk by them we occasionally pet their backs or scratch their backs. They don't seem to mind, we just wonder if they like it.

    Ammonia smell in coop??????

    Any one know what may cause this? We use pine shavings on the floor and straw in the laying boxes, the smell seems to be only in one place, almost smells like a cat box. Poop is cleaned out daily and wood shavings have been in coop for about 3 weeks. Also strange question......do Chickens pee?

    I have purchased a flock of chickens (10) and they are great looking chickens, however where they live now it is very muddy so they are very dirty. Is there a good way to clean them up a little before I put the in thier band newly built new home? I know they will make a mess once I get them...
