Can a chick recover and be able to stand again from eyeworm damage?

One of my chicks cannot stand. It has been 12 days now and my other sick chick had eyeworm but died last night. I want to know if the surviving chick has a chance at recovery after being treated for eyeworm. Please, if anyone has any idea?

Eyeworms in British Columbia or anywhere else in Canada?

I believe my young chicken, who died last night, has a case of eyeworms. I spoke with BC Animal Health today and they have never seen a case of eyeworm here. I know I saw and removed both male and female nematodes from this bird's eyes. I will be shipping the body for necropsy and hopefully...

    Is Piperazine effective for trematodes?

I think my chick may have flukes or other worm infestation that has migrated into his eyes. The only wormer I could get is Piperazine and wondering if anyone knows if that will be effective, and is it ok to flush the eyes with it as well as administering with food/water.

Eyeworm in 6 wk old chick

My chick's eyes are very swollen and today I noticed what I thought was some exudate but when I took it out it looks like it could be a worm. It's no more than 1/16 to 1/8 inch long and a slightly yellowy white. Does this sound like eyeworm and how do I treat it? Can i use Ivermectin?

Leg 'paralysis' - anyone know the details on Marek's or Newcastle paralysis?

I am struggling with a 7 week old chick who suddenly went from normal one day to unable to walk or stand the next day. It has been 6 days now with no change. She is able to contract and extend her legs and feet and I can feel there is some strength to them but when I put her in a standing...

Mycoplasma - can swine mycoplasma be communicated to chickens?

I had an 'outbreak' (meaning 2 of my 2 grower pigs) of Mycoplasma Hyosynoviae. I now have two chicks, one with bulging eyes and one with leg paralysis and wondering if the swine strain of Mycoplasma is the same as the Poulty strain.

How do I tell if my chick is dehydrated?

I have a paralyzed Silver Laced Wyandotte I am trying to diagnose and treat. She is not eating/drinking on her own but I am hand feeding her chick grower with fluids. I am concerned she is getting dehydrated however. Her comb seems a little shriveled and I don't know if that is a sign. If...

7 week old SLW will not or cannot stand. Is it Marek's?

My SLW seems to be sick. She did not come out of the coop today and when I went in she was lying by herself. She is normally very active. She doesn't seem to be able to or want to stand. I have taken her into the house and offered water with ACV and food but she is not interested. Please...

Toe constriction on 2 week old SLW chick

We just noticed today that our Silver Laced Wyandotte chick has some kind of nylon string or hair wrapped around it's outermost toe. It is quite inflamed and seems like the constriction has been there for a while as it is quite embedded into the flesh. Any ideas on whether to take aggressive...
