    Egg Business Name?

Hey, I'm trying to think of a creative name for my fresh eggs business. I want it to be something different and modern...the egg puns seem a little overused. I was thinking along the lines of Keep Calm and Raise Chickens, or #fresheggs...I live at the beach, and my flock's in my backyard. Any ideas?

    EE gender? Mixed signals

I only have a limited time to sex this chick. It's an EE, about 5-6 weeks old. It's tricky because it's giving me mixed signals. Anyone?[/IMG]

    Identify this chick

I got this black-and-white chick...and it's got me quite confused. I'm unsure of its breed, or it's gender. I don't think I've ever seen a comb like its before. Any ideas?

themed chicken names for a small flock

I recently just had to sell my five chickens because they got too old. I had so much fun naming them, and I'm planning on getting chicks soon. I want to give them names as cute as my last flock! I'd prefer if they had to do with a theme, because then all the names will match. Last year I went...

What to do with old hens?

I live in Wilmington, NC, and my hens all just turned 3...and it shows. They've almost completely stopped laying (I only get about 2 eggs a week!). Usually I would take them to the Flock Swap in Castle Hayne, but winter's approaching, so I don't think many people would be interested in buying...

    Extreme Coop Makeover!

I've built a fairly large coop and run for my chickens, but sadly I'm not always around home and cannot let them free-range a lot of the day. I'm wondering what kinds of things I could add inside my run to make my hens' time inside almost as enjoyable as their time outside! Any toys, plants...

    Chicken Free Ranging Problem

I like to let my backyard chickens out in the morning and afternoons. They stay in the backyard for a while, but because we don't have a fence they always end up wandering to the front lawn. I was wondering if there was any way to keep them in the back without a fence.

    Worms in My Nest Box

Yuck! Today I discovered little worms living underneath my bedding in my nest box. Ew! I'm going to give the whole coop a good scrub, but how do I prevent more worms??? The last thing I want are these pests getting in my eggs or getting my chickens sick. Any ideas?

    My Hen Hurt its Leg!!!

My hen fell on its leg wrong and is now limping. I checked the leg and I could touch it without the hen squealing in pain. She can move it herself, but she doesn't like to put weight on it. I think the problem is somewhere in her hip, but I don't know how to tell if there's something wrong. I...

My Hen was attacked by a dog behind my back. She has no extreme feather loss or any visible open wounds, but she's limping. My Chicken was attacked...EMERGENCY!!!

My speckled Sussex was attacked by a dog. She ran and hid and I found her and examined her. She has no open wounds nor a great deal of feather loss, but when I put her in her coop she started limping and favoring on side. She can still move both feet, and when I touch the injured one she doesn't...
