In the winter I mix cracked corn into my chicken feed to help keep them warm.
But this year we have Muscovys with the girls - just occurred to me that they are eating corn as well. Are they ok with corn?
We also save all table scrapes - they love their bucket of scrap :) The ducks go right...
Hi All! It's been a LONG TIME :)
What do you think - my Polish chicks have suddenly changed and two have a very stringy crest even at just 2.5 weeks old.
I feel like I am always posting warnings, and never BEFORE the fact
Our coop runs are chainlink dog kennels. The kennels are against our shed on one side and have wires running across the top to keep the girls safe from hawks. And mind you, we live in a suburban neighborhood so hawks are...

Some time during the night my 2 day old chicks spilled their water.
When I checked on them this morning I found that the chicks have crusty bellies from laying on the wet paper towels and chick food spread on the bottom.
Should I wash them? Will they fluff up by themselves? Help please!
My first chick hatched at about 4am yesterday and by this morning, 10 out of 13 were out and dry. 2 eggs nothing and 1 had a small pip , however it never advanced. And this morning it was still at the same stage but no movement. I thought for sure it was dead so I pulled the chicks out of the...

I am using a still air LG that has been doing awesome throughout this hatch.
However, I went into lockdown night before last, and I can't keep the humidity up!
For the first 18 days the temp was 99.5 at the bottom of the eggs and 101.5-102 at the top of the eggs with 47-50% humidity flux...
I have Polish eggs in the incubator. Day 21 is June 11th.
And of course, NOW, my Red Frizzle hen is broody!
Has anyone taken eggs out of the bator and put them under a broody?
