I am new at this and these are my first quail. Based on the pics does anyone have a theory on sex of each? They are four weeks old.
From what I have read, it sounds like the speckled are female and the plain brown chest is a boy?

So based on what I have read, it looks like the red one is a rooster and the white one is a hen. But I don't know if it is that cut and dried. The red one has a more red crest and has different color feathers around the neck. What do yall think?

One of my eggs is 21 days along. Yesterday on day 20 I started hearing chirping and was so excited. For over 24 hours its been chirping but not peeping. I am concerned it will run out of air, and I am also starting to suspect its not strong enough to get through the shell, like perhaps something...
I have two rhode island reds and one americana that are almost three years old and I have given up on getting them to lay eggs. they stopped about 3-4 months ago. I live in Beaverton Oregon. not looking for advice on getting them to lay, just want to rehome them.
