How early do pullet combs redden?

I have 5 week old chicks, some have definite red combs already. I'm assuming those are roos...is it safe to say then, that if they DO NOT have a red comb yet it's a pullet? Some that I thought were pullets are starting to get pink now....when do PULLETS actuall start to get pink on their own...

    Spur Buds?

Are all chickens born with them? I know they don't actually develop the spurs until 6-8months. But I'm looking at all 10 of my 5 week old chicks and most have the little bump or bud. Does this mean they all are roos? Thanks!

    What should I be asking

I just saw someone local on Craig's List selling Blue Red Laced Wyandottes. I do not show, I just would like some nice BRLW for my backyard flock, pet quality I guess. I would however like them to be pure...so if I choose to breed them later I could get decent quality. What do I need to ask...

    What chickens have black skin?

I have a 3 1/2 week old chick, that is supposed to be an EE. But, may have been an EE cross as I bought it from an individual w/lots of chickens. Anyway, he/she has gorgeous feathering and I noticed her comb, beak, and legs are slate color and skin is black. Is this a normal traight of an EE? TIA
