Oh mygosh! Some things just cannot be taught via you tube!!! My hubby's boss had an agressive rooster that he wanted taken care of. We went and got him last night and put him outside in a dog crate in our chicken run while the hens slept in the coop. He woke us up at about 6 am crowing! Rushed...
OUr chickens are in a permanent run and we want to supplement their greens, we do grass clippings and alfalfa hay sometimes too...
bought horse alfalfa pellets and ground them so I can mix it in with their feed...also give BOSS and lots of treats...
anyone else use alfalfa pellets to improve...
We get fertilized eggs from the farmers market and thought we would try to hatch a few. How long after gathering can we save them for before incubating? We got them yesterday at the market~they were gathered on WEdnesday and Thursday and we will get our incubator on Monday.

Made a temporary run for the chicks...let them out for a couple of hours Tues, Wed, Thurs and tonight....rounded them up each night...tonight they all took a dustbath and then ON THEIR OWN went in as it was getting dark!!! WOOO HOOOOO

Hey everybody! Well, we still have little stuff left on the coop, but we started laying out everything for the run yesterday...and I think I convinced hubby to enlarge the run by 2 foot longer and by almost 3 foot wider! Original was 16foot by 8 foot...now we are looking at 18 foot by 11...
