My silver is 6 weeks old..has not tried to mount a hen..runs from males..does not fight them..no eggs yet..calm temperament.. attacked by males..
I think that you have to vent sex these, but I was wondering if anyone who knows more than I do (everyone honestly..lol) can tell from looking if...
I have an 8 week old British range color coturnix quail..he/she doesn't produce foam when vent sexing..does not have meringue on their excrement..does not crow..does not mount the female he/she is caged with..but does not lay an egg either..
The male he is caged with pays him/her no attention...
I had my first quail eggs laid..I found an egg when I got up this morning, and I found one this evening.
I am not sure if it came from 2 different birds..both looked to have had some changes in their cloacas but I am inexperienced in knowing for sure..
Can you determine by egg patterns?
I hope that this is the proper way to ask, as I am new to quail and would like help identifying these colors, but mostly the sex.
These are Rosetta, I believe. Must be vent sexed later on
As is this smaller one.?
Very pretty, keeping #1 either way..lol
