Hi from Iowa. I hatched these little cuties July 22nd. The lady I got the eggs from sold the eggs as call ducks but did not mention the type or color. The pictures she posted were all the white with black or brown spots (magpies)? I'm especially curious what kind the purplish or lavender...
I candled the bantam eggs before locking down and see they have internal pips and chirping. Im increasing the humidity, it's at 60% now. Is there a chance they will be shrink wrapped?
I'm really concerned about what's happening in my usually peaceful coop. Suddenly after living together peacefully for a year several hens have singled out one hen and started jumping on, chasing, chasing away from food and water, corner her and even block her from going inside the coop at...

Still not sure what happened here but I wanted to share new pics! Heres the mystery chick now 6 months with her Serama and Silkie Roo friends... all hatched the same day
I probably should have thought of this earlier... right off the bat my very first egg layer went broody. My 6 month old serama laid 14 eggs and the first one hatched this evening... right on schedule. Will the roosters and other hens be a threat to the new kids? My husband just brought this up...
This is my 12 wk old chick, it's growing extremely slowly compared the the rest of the bunch and the newborn fluff come off (I hope I said that right.. i'm a new chicken person) but hardly any feathers came in. Any ideas? Why? What do I do? The other two in the photo are the same age, same...
