I have a silver seabright that was born like that. She is now about a year old and has no problem eating. She is fiesty and engeretic. Matter of fact, she outlasted her siblings!
Any peeps in the area interested in some HUGE light brahma roosters? I have 5 light brahmas that I hatched last August that need a new home (they try to mate with my frizzles & silkies :(. I know for sure that 3 are roosters, 2 I'm kinda on the fence about. They are all big, beautiful...
Please help! My daughter received an english game hen from a friend and wants more! The little hen that we have is a wheaten, so I would like to stick to the wheaten for mating purposes. I am looking for hatching eggs so that she can "raise" them herself to eventually show. Please message me...

Awful!!
It sucks.
I'm going out into the coop every couple of hours checking for more chicks.
It kills when i have to bend over.
You really need some guineas! My guineas go nuts when they spot a hawk...all of my chickens (bantams too) run for cover when they hear those stupid...

Yippie! Out of the 19 LBs incubated, I was able to lockdown 10 (ALL 10 HATCHED Sunday!). I had incubated 11 frizzles (only one wasn't viable) I hatched out 10 frizzles yesterday. My 42 guineas ... well, I just locked down 41 viable eggs last night and have 14 pipped now. Most of...
Sorry...I forgot to list their age. They are 8-9 weeks old. The edges on the 2nd ones wings are more darker grey than brown. My camera makes them look really brown. The last one has a good bit of speckled brown throughout their feathering.

I feel your pain. I did the same thing. Hubby has forbidden me to buy any more eggs until I sell some of the chicks that recently hatched. I always remind him that my obsession could be worse!
I just hatched 17 out of 20 pearl guineas. One is really troubling me...it pip'd last night and he was able to get a large piece of shell and membrane out of his way. He was breathing and making progress with his hatch, but started to foam at the mouth. The white "bubbles/foam" was the sticky...
20-80% is my rate on the table top incubator. My GQF has a 90-95% hatch rate on shipped eggs. There are so many factors that contribute to your good (and bad) hatch rates. I've just been lucky
Just candled the 19 LB that I set...all but one looks promising! The guineas are still too early to tell and the frizzles were set 2 days behind the LBs...will see how they are progressing Friday
