D'uccle rooster with large breed hens-questions!

Has anyone mixed larger breed hen's with a d'uccle roo? We have blue lace wyandotte, 2 easter eggers, australorps and Wyandotte s that are mature and laying. In a pandemic panic we got 5 white laced chicks, 2 australorps chicks and the lady gave us a porcelain d'uccle chick that is 99% a roo. He...

    help for chicks

Our town schools incubate and hatch eggs every year. We have done it ourselves several times and are chicken owners. I was given two chicks to try and help. Both are a couple days old. One is a leg horn. It can not walk and the only water it has had is from a dropper from me today. The...

    roos or hens?

ok- 8week old barred rocks. Two are what we believe are buff orph/barred rock mix because the lady we got the eggs from also raised them. She claimed they are separated but obviously not! Oh well, we think they are beautiful! Any way, getting very overcrowded so we need to start weeding out...

looks like an organ-what is it and can I do anything?

found one older post that looked like the same thing but no end report-some thought it might be an undeveloped twin. It has a little base to it. Really odd-it is the last chick so the bator is a nice safe place to wait it out! I hope it is ok and it dries up.

Growth or tumor on chick at hatch

What ever happened? I have a chick that just hatched with this same thing-not quite as large. Was from a very large egg! Can you let me know what you did or if the chick made it? I am afraid to put it in the brooder for the chicks will surely peck it being as it is so red!

this one hatched out of a really huge egg. It is not near the vent, it is where the umbilical is connected-do we need to worry?
