I have 4 12 week old silver laced wyandottes. They have been penned next to my other hens for 6 weeks now. Would it be ok to start letting them free range together?
Im going to go into some detail so someone can help and I cover all my bases.
I have 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes that are 9 weeks old. I hatched them myself.
They have had runny poo since they were born. Sometimes its a little more solid.
I was concerned about their poo and posted last week...
Just a few finishing touches left and it will be completely finished. My hubby worked hard on it and I have to show off his work so he knows I am proud of him. Im so tickeled with it.
My babies are 6 weeks old, fully feathered and outside now. Its supposed to be 30 here tomorrow night. Should I turn a light on them? They are Silver Laces Wyandottes.
I was just curious to know if anyone actually files a backyard flock as a small business.
What are the benefits to claiming what you sell in eggs?
Im confused as to what to do with this part.
Thanks for your help, I didn't know where to post this thread.
This little guy did not have curled toes until recently. I started noticing it a couple of days ago. He is feathering slower than the rest of the chicks but is much bigger than the rest also. He seems fine, acts alert, friendly and healthy. Should I tape his feet? Use riboflavin? Or is it...
Okay I know that my babies are ready for treats but I am going to go get grit today before I give them anything new. What exactly do I get and how do I offer it to them?
I have a chick that seems a little lethargic and has a very loose snotty looking stool. Is this something that I should be concerned about? The other ones with it are all doing well.
I know everyone says that its hard to sex chicks when they are a week old. I have 3 that are the same and one is much darker. So Im assuming that I have either 3 roosters and one hen, or 3 hens and one rooster. Any ideas?
woke up this morning to a dead chicken in the coop. Half eaten. Our coop is very secure with hardware cloth, heavy metal fencing on the ground around the coop, and a metal roof. The sides are 8 feet high with only a 3 inch gap between the top and the roof. Darn if an oppossum didnt get thru...
I need an answer fast. I had my first ever chick come out of its shell tonight full force. He is all over the incubator. Knocking all of the other eggs everywhere. Is this normal?
I have 4 silver laced wyandotte hens in the coop. One is picking on the rest and 3 are now almost completely naked on the rear ends. I have 15 eggs in the incubator. I have a brooder and I am building a grow pen. I am thinking I need to do something with this aggressive hen. Should I give...
I got my wyandottes 3 months ago. They are laying great. I get 2 dozen eggs a week from 4 chickens. One hen was missing her tail feathers when I got her. The other ones peck at her bald spot every once in a while. It's getting colder now and I'm wondering how long till she gets feathers back...
We just finished our first coop. We need to put something down around the outside or dig around the edges and put something down deep to keep out coyotes and fox. Any suggestions?
